So first, if you haven’t signed up for the free Find Your Joy Taster course with Louise Fletcher, I believe you can do it for about another day. Here’s the link. I can’t tell if this will work because I’m already a member. At this point, what do you have to lose to try? If it allows you to, watch all the lessons and write down the assignments.
You can also follow along here on Spark with FAB. My life is too full to complete the lessons in one week, so I’m spreading them out over the next four weeks or so.
You can follow along here with me. If you do, please post your results on the Cedar Valley Painters Facebook page here. Or leave a comment on this post so others can see and enjoy with you.
Check out friend LeAnn Farley’s results here.
The first lesson was to take a piece of paper and tape it off in a grid of six blocks using painter’s tape. I taped three pieces horizontally and vertically. I didn’t measure, so I got very wonky-sized squares. I did this intentionally. I wanted to see what the smaller paintings looked like compared to the larger ones.
Use any three colors of paint, plus black and white. (These instructions only work if you’re using acrylics or oil.) For watercolor, use white gouache. Don’t use black; you’ll mostly get mud. Use whatever other medium you want to use, and use as many tools as you can to put the paint on the paper. Set a timer for 30 minutes and go to it!
Here are my results:
Have fun painting!
